His extensive experience with rifles and optics, both in competition and in the field, allows him to provide insightful reviews and demonstrations that will benefit the UK’s target shooting and hunting community.
Christian Westcough: Precision Shooter, Hunter, and Industry Leader
Christian’s journey in the shooting world is remarkable. Since 2021, he has been a professional target shooting team member and a passionate hunter.
Alongside Leupold Christian collaborates with other industry-leading brands such as Bergara International, Jackal Firearms, Nieload, Kydex Customs, and York Knife. Through social media engagement and content creation, he has built a dedicated following across Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube, with his videos surpassing 10k views. As part of the Viking Field Team, Christian will be showcasing Leupold optics and Viking Arms products across these platforms, reaching an engaged audience of shooting and hunting enthusiasts.
Championing Precision Rifle Shooting in the UK
Christian has proudly represented the United Kingdom on the global stage, competing at the 2024 IPRF World Championships in Colorado. As a founding executive member of both the Great Britain Precision Rifle Association (GBPRA) and the International Precision Rifle Federation (IPRF), he played a crucial role in establishing and promoting precision rifle shooting in the UK.
His contributions include organising qualification matches for international competitions and serving as a Media Officer to expand the sport’s reach. Though he recently stepped down from these roles, his dedication to fostering the next generation of shooters continues through his efforts to establish a Home Office Approved Club and bringing NRL Hunter to the UK, a competitive format blending hunting and precision shooting.
Hunting and the Growth of NRL Hunter UK
For Christian, hunting remains his first love. Whether pursuing rabbits, foxes, or stalking deer, his experience spans various terrains, including Spain and Norway, with plans for a Sika stalk in Ireland later this year. Recognising the need for a competitive format that mirrors real-world hunting scenarios, he established NRL Hunter UK, which launched to great acclaim in early 2025.
The first-ever Hunter match in the UK was a resounding success, and with seven more matches on the 2025 calendar, the series is set for a significant impact. As Match Director, Christian will oversee these events, ensuring they provide a challenging and realistic hunting experience. Additionally, NRL Hunter UK is planning specialised training events to further support the sport’s growth.
Advocating for Shooting and Hunting Communities
Christian remains a strong advocate for responsible firearm ownership and the shooting sports community. With constant challenges facing firearm owners, he emphasises the importance of building strong shooting communities, promoting the positive aspects of both hunting and competition shooting.
A passionate mentor, Christian is dedicated to bringing new shooters into the sport, particularly young enthusiasts—including his own son. His commitment to fostering the next generation of marksmen aligns perfectly with Viking Arms’ and Leupold’s mission to support and grow the shooting sports industry.
